LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The top four teams from the Collegiate Water Polo Association's Northern and Southern Divisions will clash with the league's ultimate prizes at stake, the Eastern Championship and an automatic bid to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship at the University of California-Berkeley, as St. Francis College, Princeton University, Brown University, Bucknell University, Fordham University, the United States Naval Academy, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins University clash at the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship set for November 19-21 at Bucknell University's Kinney Natatorium.
The tournament will pit a nine-time champion (Navy - 1986, 1987, 1988, 1990, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008), a five-time champion (Bucknell - 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980), a four-time champion (Brown - 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985), a three-time champion (Princeton - 1992, 2004, 2009), a solo champ (St. Francis - 2005) and three teams seeking their first league titles (Johns Hopkins, MIT, Fordham) in a three-day, 12-game tournament to decide which program reigns supreme in the CWPA this year.
If you can not make it to Lewisburg for the East Coast's biggest water polo championship, do not worry. The CWPA, in partnership with Stretch Internet, will be live streaming all 12 games live on Friday-Sunday for the league's fans at a cost of $10 per game or $25 for a weekend pass that allows viewers to watch every game from the comfort of their home or office. In addition, each game will be archived so that fans can catch up on the action if they miss a game.
