Johns Hopkins University's Selbst Named November 22 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Johns Hopkins University goalie Jeremy Selbst (Sr., Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) tallied 31 saves over three games to lead the Division IIII No. 1-ranked Blue Jays to a sixth place finish at the 2010 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship and earn the November 22 Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.
The honor marks his fourth Southern Division Defensive Player of the Week award during the 2010 season as he previously picked up the September 6, September 27 and October 25 honors.
At the CWPA Eastern Championship hosted by Bucknell University, he posted 10 saves in a 9-8 loss to No. 12 St. Francis College before netting 13 saves in an 11-8 victory over Fordham University to reach the fifth place game.
Facing No. 20 Brown University in the fifth place game, he recorded eight saves in a 10-5 loss.
Overall, he limited opponents to nine-of-28 on man-up chances, including stopping seven-of-10 opportunities against St. Francis and eight-of-10 against Fordham.
