BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- St. Francis College's Marko (So., Belgrade, Serbia/Sports Gymnasium) and Stefan (Sr., Belgrade, Serbia/Tenth HS Mihajlo Pupin) Gencic talked with the SFC Communications Office regarding the Terriers recent Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Eastern Championship and outlook for the upcoming National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship at the University of California-Berkeley.
In the first game, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) champion the University of Southern California (26-2) will play CWPA champion St. Francis (24-3) at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time on December 4. The second game will match at-large selection the University of California (23-3) versus Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) champion Loyola Marymount University (19-8) at 3:00 p.m.
The third-place game will be played at 1 p.m. Pacific Time on December 5, with the championship game at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. A CWPA team has never played for the NCAA title in the history of the national championship.
