Harvard University Announces 2011 Women's Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Harvard University recently released the program's 2011 women's water polo schedule with multiple home dates, three East Coast tournaments and a Spring Break trip to California to take on some of the best National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) programs not on the East Coast.

The season opens Feb. 5 with games against inner-city foe Boston College and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) opponent Iona College.

The Crimson will also entertain guests at Blodgett Pool February 23 against Brown University, March 27 against Wagner College, April 2 against Marist College and Connecticut College and April 3 versus St. Francis College (N.Y.).

Harvard's trip to Northern California will span seven days from March 13-19 and includes games against the University of California, Santa Clara University, the University of California-Davis, California State University-Monterey Bay, Fresno Pacific University and California State University-East Bay.

The women will also compete in three tournaments during the spring, starting with an early test at the Marist Invitational on February 19. Tournaments at Bucknell University and the University Maryland will all but wrap up the season in April as the team prepares for the CWPA Eastern Championship on April 29-May 1, hosted by Indiana University, with the ulimate goal of earning the league's automatic bid and reaching the NCAA Championship at the University of Michigan.
