Gannon University Drops 12-11 OT Game to Siena College at Wolverine Invitational
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Gannon University finished a weekend filled with tough competition at the University of Michigan Wolverine Invitational with a 12-11 overtime loss to Siena College.
The Lady Knights trailed 3-2 after the first quarter, but answered with a 4-2 scoring advantage in the second, to hold a slight 6-5 lead at the half.
Gannon extended its lead by out-scoring Siena 2-1 in the third quarter. However, the Saints rallied to score four goals in the fourth quarter. The Lady Knights netted two, resulting in a 10-10 at the end of regulation.
Siena pulled off the overtime victory by out-scoring Gannon 2-1 in the extra session.
Gannon was led offensively by Molly Andrews (Tustin, Calif./Tustin), who netted four goals. Bailey Gadd (Golden Colo./Lakewood), Kelsey Rzymek (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Katelyn Jacobs (Brookfield, Ill./Lyons Township) each added two scores. Libbie Guina (Houston, Texas/Clear Brook) turned away 11 shots in goal.
The loss dropped Gannon's record to 6-17 this season.
