Harvard University's Ariel Dukes Named March 26 Southern Division Rookie & Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University's Ariel Dukes (Fr., Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park) made 13 saves in a crucial 7-5 division victory over Brown University to earn the March 26 Women's Varsity Southern Division Rookie and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

The freshman allowed just five goals as the Crimson downed the Bears to move to 2-1 in division play. 

She shined in the first period by making four saves and holidng the Bears scoreless throughout the frame.  Entering the fourth period with a narrorow 4-3 scoring advantage, Dukes came up big for Harvard making a one-handed save on a Brown breakaway to preserve the lead as the Crimson cruised to victory.

The dual awards mark the second and third of the season for Dukes who previously garnered honors as the March 5 Southern Division Rookie of the Week.
