LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University women's water polo team lost, 12-4, to George Washington University in the fifth-place game at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Championship hosted by Bucknell University.

GW went up, 3-2, after one period, but scored all four goals in the second quarter. The Lakers mustered two scores in the fourth frame, but it was not enough. Laura Perez had two goals and four drawn ejections. Allie Grimes totaled a goal, an assist, and four drawn ejections. Lisett Calderon scored a goal and Kylie McCormick dished out two assists.

The Lakers dropped to 9-17 with the loss.
