Utica College's Ali Templin Earns April 16 Division III Rookie of the Week Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Ali Templin (Fr., Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) of Utica College made 72 saves over five games at home during the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Central-vs.-East Tournament to earn the April 16 Women's Varsity Division III Rookie of the Week award and help the Pioneers clinch the No. 7 seed for the upcoming CWPA Division III Championship at Grove City College.

Her average of 14.4 saves per game aided the Pioneers in defeating Chatham University (10-6 W) and Pennsylvania State University-Behrend (11-5 W) to conclude the division regular season with a 3-7 mark.  In addition, Templin stood tall in the cage as Utica fell to No. 9-nationally ranked Grove City College (18-2 L), No. 10 Washington & Jefferson College (16-6 L) and Connecticut College (19-6 L) during the weekend.

The April 16 Utica College Athlete of the Week for her performance at home against the Behrend Lions, Cougars, Wolverines, Presidents and Camels, she tallied a weekend-best 22 saves in the victory over PSU-Behrend and added 13 stops in the defeat of Chatham.
