Grove City College's Chelsea Johnson Claims April 23 Division III Player of the Week Award
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Grove City College's Chelsea Johnson (Sr., Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) recorded 12 goals over three games to help lead the No. 9-ranked Wolverines to the 2012 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship, earn her second tournament Most Valuable Player award and claim the April 16 Division III Player of the Week award.
She posted three goals against Chatham University (19-2 W) and added four goals versus Connecticut College (13-3 W) in the semifinals. In the tournament title game versus No. 10 Washington & Jefferson College, she posted her best game of the tournament tallying five goals as the Wolverines rolled to a 10-3 victory.
The 2012 Division III Most Valuable Player for her play during the regular season, she led Grove City with 70 goals during the regular season and also recorded 22 assists and 34 steals in 23 matches.
