Alex Stankevitch Selected to Officiate 2012 NCAA Championship at San Diego State University
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) official Alex Stankevitch was selected to officiate the 2012 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women's Water Polo Championship this weekend at San Diego State University.
A consistent selection to the National Championship officiating crew, he last appeared at the 2011 NCAA Men's Championship at the University of California-Berkeley and last called a women's NCAA championship last year at the University of Michigan.
The selections, which can not be announced prior to the NCAA Championship meeting at the site on the day prior to the first date of competition per NCAA rules for all 89 championships, are based on referrals from the participating conferences (CWPA, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, Western Water Polo Association, Big West Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) and are selected in consultation with NCAA Coordinator of Officials Dr. Bob Corb.
