Harvard University's Alexandre Popp Named September 5 Northern Division Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Harvard University goalie Alexandre Popp (Sr., Palo Alto, Calif./Menlo-Atherton) made 18 saves in a 1-1 weekend for the Crimson at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Invitational to earn the September 5 Men's Varsity Northern Division Defensive Player of the Week award.

In a season-opening 13-5 victory over the host Engineers, he made five saves and combined with back-up Jimmy Field (So., Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) to defeat MIT.

Later, Popp stopped 13 shots in a 13-9 loss to No. 17-ranked California Baptist University to conclude the weekend.
