BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Brown University's Svetozar Stefanovic (Jr., Belgrade, Serbia/Russian Embassy) netted 20 goals, six assists, eight steals and eight ejections drawn at the North-vs.-South Tournament on the grounds of the United States Naval Academy to claim the September 19 Men's Varsity Northern Division Player of the Week award.
In a 4-0 weekend for the Bears to improve Brown to 5-4 on the season, he aided his team in defeating Johns Hopkins University (10-6 W), No. 16-ranked Bucknell University (8-7 W), Mercyhurst College (19-11 W) and George Washington University (11-8 W).
He netted a hat-trick or better in each of the victories with three markers tossing in totals of three (Johns Hopkins), four (Bucknell), six (George Washington) and seven (Mercyhurst).
In addition, he netted three assists versus Mercyhurst to finish with a game-high 10 points, while adding two assists and three steals in a victory over George Washington.
The award marks the ninth weekly honor in Stefanovic's career as he garnered the September 7, September 21, October 12, October 19, October 26 and November 2, 2009 Northern Division Rookie of the Week honors, while garnering the September 4 and September 28, 2009 Player of the Week awards.
